Beth Michalak has been working to support college students in various roles for the past seven years. In her current role, she helps students to address the nature of their issues, identify their personal goals through counseling and empower them to make positive changes in their lives.
Michalak strives to create a safe and inclusive environment for students in their efforts to connect with their strengths and continue to grow as individuals. She uses a strengths-based approach to counseling that draws from CBT, DBT and solution focused treatments to help students develop more options for dealing with difficult thoughts and emotions. Her clinical areas of interest are depression, anxiety, stress management/self-care, adjustment to college, grief and loss, LGBTQ + issues, mind-body interconnection, mindfulness, strengths development and multicultural competency in counseling.
