Molly Evans' studio research utilizes soft sculpture and experimental quilts to capture physical gestures of emotional effort from both individual and community perspectives.
Professional and Community Activities
Evans is a fiber artist and sculptor specializing in soft sculpture media with conceptual themes of humor, empathy and interpersonal exchange. She has held numerous solo shows including exhibitions at the Iridian Gallery (Richmond, VA), the former Ivy Tech Waldron Arts Center and Noise Projects (Bloomington, IN) with additional solo shows forthcoming. She is also an original cofounder of the Fiber Arts Bloomington Studio in Bloomington, IN, and interdisciplinary fibers studio and dye lab focusing on natural dye research.
She has a passion for the authentic presentation of self that filters through her studio research, her teaching philosophy and her community education efforts in training artists with creative public speaking methodology.
