Career Specialties
Physician assistant education is Todd Doran's discipline, and his area of interest is the pre-matriculate characteristics that determine academic success. Secondarily, he is interested in pipeline development to improve matriculate diversity.Professional and Community Activities
Doran has a long-standing history of service to the Urological Association of Physician Assistants serving as president from 2009-2011 during a time of rapid expansion of the membership and association finances. He is involved in state Physician Assistant Medical Board activities, promoting the expansion of the practice act and ensuring public safety. Recent publications include the state of opioid education in physician assistant programs and presentation of the results to improve matriculate diversity through the weighting of non-cognitive traits in physician assistant admissions.Doran is a distinguished fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, a member of the American Urological Association, a member of the Physician Assistant Education Association, a fellow member of the
Sexual Medicine Society of North America, a fellow member of the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants and a fellow member of the Urological Association of Physician Assistants. He currently serves on the End of Curriculum Exam Development Board and was previously on the Rotation Exam Review Committee for Emergency Medicine and Surgery at the Physician Assistant Education Association.
