Career Specialties: Kenneth Baron's specific interest lies in musculoskeletal/sports medicine/surgical sub-specialty care. His current medical practice is sports medicine and is procedure based. Additionally, he served in the United States Air Force for 33 years and has deployed several times as a member of a Forward Surgical Team. Because of these experiences and the training he received in preparation for them, he is well versed in trauma and disaster medicine.
Professional and Community Activities: As commander of surgical services at MacDill Air Force Base, Baron has built training agreements and resource sharing agreements with St. Joseph’s Hospital, Memorial Hospital and Tampa General Hospital. This was to ensure surgical currency and readiness for surgeons assigned to MacDill Air Force Base. Prior to this, he was assigned to the United States Air Force Academy as an instructor of biology and served as the director of medical advance at the White House Medical Unit. In this capacity, he formulated medical emergency action plans at locations across the globe for the president and vice president of the United States.
