What is the UT Greek Giving Challenge?
The UT Greek Giving Challenge is an initiative of the Office of Development and University Relations in partnership with the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement. This challenge will support the Fraternity and Sorority Life Annual Scholarship to be awarded to four exceptional members of the UT Greek community. In addition, the challenge will connect current fraternity and sorority chapter members with Greek alumni and allow them to win Greek Week points.
How is the competition scored?
Alumni participation counts! Each chapter will compete along with their alumni base to win points for Greek Week. Each chapter will receive points based off of their alumni participation percentage.
Participation is based on gifts received to the Office of Development and University Relations.
A gift of $25 or more from any alumni of the chapter will count toward the UT Greek Giving Challenge. Gifts must be made to The University of Tampa, and delivered in person, by mail or online by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019.
Joint gifts between spouses who were both members of a fraternity/sorority will count towards participation for each organization.
Chapters must have alumni of record (with a good mailing address). Participation rates are based upon fraternity/sorority affiliation noted in our database. Gifts may not be made on behalf of other alumni. Prizes will only be awarded to organizations in good standing.
What are the prizes for the winning chapters?
Greek Week points! Chapters with 100 percent participation will each receive 100 points, chapters with 76 percent participation will receive 76 points, and chapters with 45 percent participation will receive 45 points.
The fraternity and sorority chapter with the highest participation and the chapter with the most alumni donors will receive special recognition in the spring UT Journal and the alumni e-newsletter.
How do I participate and help my organization win the challenge?
Donate to the Fraternity and Sorority Life Annual Scholarship and share with your chapter.
When is the competition?
The competition begins over UT’s homecoming weekend, Oct. 18-19. It will officially close at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019.
