Orientation Service Project
During both fall and spring orientation, new students have the opportunity to get involved with the UT and greater Tampa Bay communities. At the beginning of each semester, The University of Tampa's PEACE (People Exploring Active Community Experiences) Volunteer Center hosts large-scale community engagement events that involve new and continuing students, as well as staff and faculty. Volunteers are transported to a variety of local organizations in Tampa Bay where they participate in different projects specific to the organizations. The events are designed to help students engage in service opportunities in the community that will encourage them to volunteer on a regular basis through PEACE. Students will earn four community service hours upon the completion of this event, beginning a running log of hours recorded through PEACE. These hours and future hours can supplement a student's co-curricular transcript.
