Connect with Students

Volunteer Now

Do you love what you do? Would you like to share your insight and experience with students seeking knowledge about your professional field? We have multiple opportunities throughout the year to connect alumni with students both on campus as well as virtually. A few examples include:

  • Professional Events: Throughout the year opportunities arise for alumni to share information on their career path and life experiences with students. Opportunities include serving on career panels, speaking to classes and student organizations, and meeting with students one on one either in person or virtually.
  • Spartan 12: In conjunction with our Student Alumni Association, Spartan 12 lunches and dinners bring together eight outstanding students with four alumni leaders for networking, mentorship and Spartan camaraderie over a meal. Spartan 12 gatherings are held multiple times a year.
  • Career Discovery Interview: A Career Discovery Interview is an excellent way to assist a student by sharing information and answering questions about your field and career. Interviews are conducted throughout the academic year based on student requests and interest.

Additional Opportunities

Success Scholars Mentoring

The Success Scholars Program at The University of Tampa is designed to provide programmatic and financial support for first generation and underrepresented students throughout their academic journey. These scholars benefit from experienced alumni who are willing to act as mentors to assist the students with the transition to careers and life after college. Alumni would be paired with a senior Success Scholar for a yearlong mentorship.

Success Scholars Community Engagement

Because volunteerism is a great way to build skills, learn about yourself and make connections, opportunities are provided for the scholars to give back to the community by supporting local nonprofit organizations and humanitarian agencies. Alumni are invited to participate as fellow volunteers, collaborating to make our community better, while also helping the scholars better understand and articulate how the skills they are building can positively impact their future careers.
