The University of Tampa community is pleased to present Family Orientation to our Class of 2023 parents, family and guardians.

While your students attend their first day of Week of Welcome, you are encouraged to attend Family Orientation. This optional morning program will introduce you to the University’s resources and tools to help your student successfully transition to UT.  

Registration for Family Orientation has reached maximum capacity. If you were unable to register for Family Orientation, all presentations will be posted to this page during the week of Aug. 26.

Parents, family members and guardians may also elect to participate in the undergraduate online orientation program by creating a guest account. The online orientation program will provide your student with information on how to be successful at our University and help them become familiar with the many resources available your student as a Spartan.

Schedule Summary

All residence halls open on Friday, Aug. 23, for our residential first-year and transfer students. Commuter first-year and transfer students will need to check in for orientation in the Grand Salon, located in Plant Hall.  

Please note that if you are a parent, family member or guardian of an international student (studying on a visa), international students should arrive on Thursday, Aug. 22, for a special International Student Orientation program.  International students are expected to attend all new student orientation activities on Friday, Aug. 23.

Parents, family members or guardians are free to help students settle into their residence hall rooms on Friday, Aug. 23, prior to their mandatory floor meeting, which will take place at 7 p.m. In addition to settling into their residence hall rooms, you and your students may elect to tour the campus or visit our historical Plant Hall Museum. 

Lunch and dinner in Ultimate Dining on Friday, Aug. 23, are included in the fee for families who have registered for the Family Orientation program.

The Family Orientation program will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24. This is an optional program which is intended for for those who have registered to participate in the program. During the program, parents, family members and guardians are invited to meet key administrative staff and attend a variety of presentations focused on helping your student be successful at The University of Tampa. A continental breakfast will be provided.
