Student using a laptop

The technologist track of the music major (MUS) is designed for students who are interested in electronic music, audio engineering, music production and/or composition. Students in the technologist track focus on creativity, innovation and professional development in the field of music technology. This flexible degree track can accommodate any student, regardless of their previous musical background or level of training.

Admission

The technologist track does not require an audition or a portfolio submission for program acceptance. Students are considered admitted once they have been accepted to UT as a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree student and have submitted a music audition form to specify their intent to pursue the technologist track. Although a music audition form is required, completing an actual audition is optional for technologist students and only needed if the student is also applying for a music scholarship as well.

Degree Requirements

A complete list of degree requirements for the technology track can be found on the UT catalog.
