Career Specialties: Zijian Gong's research focuses on investigating motivated processing of media to understand how message design and editorial elements impact selective attention, recall and attitude formation, and examining source and message factors that impact the persuasive ability of mass media content.
Professional and Community Activities: Gong has published two empirical papers in referred journals and given 16 presentations at national/international conferences on topics including media psychology, message effects and the impact of structural properties of media messages on selective attention.
