Career Specialties
Maureen Butler teaches in the UT Nonprofit Certificate Program and is the internship coordinator for the Accounting Department. Her focus is on management accounting and nonprofit accounting. Her research interests are in the areas of management accounting and government contracting and outsourcing. Butler's research has been published in Catalyst: The Leading Edge of Ohio Business, the Journal of Applied Business Research, and the Journal of Business Cases and Applications. Prior to entering academia, Butler served in the U.S. Army Finance Corps. She is a CPA, licensed in Virginia and Florida, and has worked as an accountant with a property management company and a small CPA firm. Butler also has experience consulting small businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Professional and Community Activities:
Butler is a member of the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Management Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She volunteers with Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School, other local nonprofit organizations and with her church.
