UT Volunteer Network

Alumni and parent volunteers can play a key role in the continued success of UT. As a member of the UT Volunteer Network you have the opportunity to get involved in the many areas of the University.

Admissions

You will have a direct impact on students' decisions to enroll.

The SPARTANS Recruitment Program offers you a very special opportunity to share your enthusiasm for the university and its distinctive programs with prospective students and their families. You will have a direct impact on students' decisions to enroll.

SPARTANS will provide the tools and guidance necessary for you to be an informed representative of the admissions office. As an admissions volunteer, activities in which you may participate include:

  • Assisting the Office of Admissions by attending local college fairs
  • Attending admitted student receptions in your area
  • Staying updated on University of Tampa programs and campus developments
  • Interviewing students in your area
  • Presenting scholarships to students enrolling in UT at local high school ceremonies

We are asking that parents and alumni volunteer as their schedule permits. The University of Tampa will reward volunteers who have earned 50 points within two years with a round trip airline ticket to Tampa.

  • College Fair = 10 points
  • Admitted Student Reception = 5 points
  • Student interviews = 5 points
  • Meeting with prospective students and parents = 5 points
  • Scholarship ceremonies = 5 points

Career Services

Serve as mentors to UT students and post job opportunities.
Become a Mentor
Mentors will typically be available to consult with students on such topics as industry and company information, trends in the workplace, job function specific advice, networking tips, etc. Many times, mentors are able to offer an opportunity for job shadowing and informational interviews.

Post Positions in Your Company
Alumni can help UT students and fellow alumni in their job search by providing the Office of Career Services with posting information for the positions. Some alumni volunteer to forward resumes of UT students and alumni to their employers for consideration for various positions.
