Career Specialties

Scott Paine specializes in public opinion and the media, transportation policy, Florida state and local government, political communication and research methods.

Professional and Community Activities:

Paine served on the Tampa City Council from '91 to '99 and has served on several state policy task forces and commissions, addressing issues of growth management, transportation and intergovernmental cooperation.

He writes a regular column for Quality Cities, the magazine of the Florida League of Cities, and has presented workshops on local government leadership for the Southern Municipal Conference, the Florida League of Cities, regional leagues, Leadership Florida, and the Institute of Government.

Paine also is nearing completion of his formation as a lay minister in the Catholic diocese of St. Petersburg.
