Bike Registration and Safety
Campus Safety encourages all students, faculty and staff to register their bicycles. Registration ensures timely owner notification should any issues arise concerning the bike. To register, log on to SpartanWeb and click on the "Campus Life" tab, then click on "Safety and Security," which will take you to the online registration form. After registering, you will receive an email indicating the registration was received and further instructions on obtaining the registration sticker. Students only may receive a free bike lock, while supplies last.
In addition, bicycles should be registered with the Tampa Police Department. This link is also at the bottom of the bicycle registration form on SpartanWeb. Those students who register their bikes make it easier for the Tampa Police Department to return them if ever stolen and recovered.
After registration, the bicycle should be locked to a secure campus bike rack or stored in the secured Thomas Parking Garage bicycle storage areas. Bike racks are located outside residence halls. Bicycles may be kept in residence hall rooms as long as all roommates agree. Campus Safety will impound all unsecured bikes. The University of Tampa is not liable for any theft or damages that may occur while the bicycle is on University property.
