Bike Registration and Safety
Campus Safety and Security encourages all students, faculty and staff to register their bicycles. Registration ensures the timely notification of any issue that may arise concerning the bike, so the owner can be contacted immediately. To register, log on to SpartanWeb and click on the "Campus Life" tab. Click on "Safety and Security," which will take you to the online registration form. After registration, your sticker will be mailed to the local address listed.
In addition, bicycles should be registered with the Tampa Police Department. Those students who register their bikes make it easier for the Tampa Police Department to return them if ever stolen and recovered.
After registration, the bicycle should be locked to a secure campus bike rack or stored in the secured Thomas Parking Garage bicycle storage area. Bicycles may be kept in residence hall rooms as long as both roommates agree. Bike racks are also located outside residence halls. Campus Safety will impound all unsecured bikes. The University of Tampa is not liable for any theft or damages that may occur while the bicycle is on University property.
