Tampa Police Department
The Tampa Police Department has joined forces with the University of Tampa to create a safety video for UT students. The video reminds students of the importance in remaining vigilant while off-campus and during hours of darkness. The video will be featured as a trailer before on-campus movies and events as well as incorporated into UT's orientation safety program.

Alert Tampa
We encourage all University community members to register for Alert Tampa through the city of Tampa. This service provides time-critical notifications for emergencies or warnings relevant to our area. Tampa Downtown Guides
Provided by the city of Tampa, these individuals assist with monitoring the city as well as acting as "goodwill ambassadors." These duties include providing assistance with directions, flat tires and dead batteries. According to their website, “They receive training by some of the best organizations in the area, including Busch Gardens, the American Automobile Association (AAA) and Tampa's finest – The Tampa Police Department and Tampa Fire Rescue.” For assistance call (813) 267-2220.

Saturday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Sunday: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Transportation
Cross-Bay Ferry
For those looking to explore more of Tampa Bay there is a new transportation option traveling between Tampa and St. Petersburg, the Cross-Bay Ferry. Patrons can book a ride on this 98-foot-long ferry and cruise the bay between two popular cities, opening up a multitude of options for shopping, entertainment and sightseeing. The ferry is accessible to everyone, having options that are ADA compliant. There are food and beverage options for purchase during the 50-minute commute. Passengers are allowed two hand-carry items that will be stowed for the voyage and one small personal item that they may keep with them. The cost to ride is $10 per an adult one-way ride and $8 per youth (3 years and older, under 3 free). There are other special rates and discounts that can be found on the ferry's website, as well as a full schedule.
The Downtowner
For anyone looking to get around the downtown Tampa area you can now catch a free ride, thanks to the Tampa Downtown Partnership, on the Downtowner. There is an app you can download for a convenient experience.
