Navy ROTC Scholarships

The NROTC unit offers four programs: (1) the Navy-Marine Corps Four-Year Scholarship Program, (2) the Navy-Marine Corps Two-Year Scholarship Program, (3) the Four-Year NROTC College Program, and (4) the Two-Year NROTC College Program.

The Four-Year Scholarship
  • Full tuition
  • All college/university fees
  • Stipend for textbooks
  • All uniforms provided
  • Subsistence allowance each academic month
    • $250 per month for freshmen
    • $300 per month for sophomores
    • $350 per month for juniors
    • $400 per month for seniors
     
  • Graduates are commissioned as officers in the Navy or Marine Corps.
  • Total military service obligation is eight years, at least four of which must be active duty.
The Two-Year Scholarship
  • Covers final two years of college
  • Provides tuition, fees, textbooks, and uniforms for two academic years
  • Subsistence allowance for a maximum of 20 months
  • Open to college students who have completed their sophomore year or third year in a five-year curriculum
  • Deadline date: March 15 of the applicant's sophomore year
  • Graduates are commissioned as officers in the Navy or Marine Corps.
  • Total military service obligation is eight years, at least four of which must be active duty.
NROTC College Program
  • Four- or two-year programs
  • Applicants selected from students already attending or accepted by colleges with NROTC programs.
  • Four-year applicants apply through professors of naval science prior to freshman year.
  • Two-year applicants apply before spring of sophomore year.
  • When accepted, two-year applicants will attend an eight week Naval Science Institute program in Newport , R.I. during summer between sophomore and junior years.
  • College Program students selected for “advanced standing” receive a stipend for maximum of 20 months. Advanced standing is only available starting the junior year of college.
  • On graduation, four- and two-year College Program midshipmen may be commissioned officers in the Navy or Marine Corps.
  • Obligation of eight years commissioned service, at least three of which must be active duty.
