Summer Housing

Note: To apply for summer housing, submit the online form below.

Dates:

• Inter-session I, May 10–May 24, available only to SPRING 2008 residential students
• Session I, May 25–July 5 
• Session II, July 6–Aug. 15
• Inter-session II, Aug. 16–Aug. 24, available only to FALL 2008 residential students 

Requirements:

• Applications are due Monday, April 21, 2008 by noon. Due to limited space, rooms are not guaranteed for those who apply after this date.
• You must either be enrolled in at least one class or be approved to work on campus for each summer session.
• Your on-campus supervisor must send an e-mail to reslife@ut.edu if you are approved to work on campus but are not taking a class and wish to reside in on-campus housing this summer. The e-mail must include your full name and ID number along with the department you will be working for. No housing will be assigned to students without the proper information on file.
• Students working in the Office of Residence Life or at 24-hour-desk are not eligible for single rooms.
• In order to prepare our summer halls for fall occupancy, residents may be moved to a different room at the end of Summer Session I. Failure to move promptly, when advised by the Office of Residence Life to do so, will result in a $200 fine.
• For students currently living on campus who plan to stay for Inter-session I - Move over is Tuesday, May 13, 2008, from 1-3 p.m. If you are not staying on campus for Inter-session I, or currently live off campus, Summer Session I move-in is Sunday, May 25, 2008, from 1-3 p.m. There are no exceptions.
• Summer I (only) move out is July 5, 2008 by 10 a.m. There are no exceptions.
• Summer II (only) move in is July 6 from 1-3 p.m. There are no exceptions. This is also the date Summer I students will be required to switch to their summer II new room assignment if they are staying for a second summer session. 
• You will be required to pick up your fall room keys between 9 a.m. and Noon on Friday, Aug. 15, 2008. Your move must be completed by 5 p.m. There will be no exceptions to this date. If you are not living on campus for fall 2008, you will need to move out of summer housing on Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, between 9 a.m. and Noon. There will be no exceptions. Summer Inter-session II housing is only for students who will be living on campus for 2008-2009. We will need to prepare our summer halls for the arrival of new fall students.
  
• A hard copy of dates and times will be provided during check-in and updated online by May 13.

• All residents will be housed in Austin Hall.
• Assignments for single rooms will be based on class standing (credits and GPA). There are a limited number of singles available during the summer.  Singles assignments will be posted after 5 p.m., Monday, May 12, outside the Office of Residence Life, Vaughn 213.
• Assignments to doubles will not be provided until check-in.
• The meal plan will not be available. 
• For summer housing rates, please refer to the Summer Course Schedule, which will be available in the Office of Continuing Studies, Plant Hall Rm. 237, after spring break.
• Roommate requests will be granted when space is available and requests are received by the April 21, 2008 deadline.
