Dr. Ronald L. Vaughn has served as president of The University of Tampa since January 1995. Under his leadership, the University has entered a period of growth and expansion unlike any in its previous history. University enrollments have more than doubled during his tenure and new enrollment records have been set in each of the last nine years.
Since 1995, the University’s annual budget has quadrupled from $28 million to $112 million for the 2006-2007 year. The record growth has fueled dynamic improvements in both the academic and student life areas. Since 1998, more than $200 million of construction has been completed or is underway.
During President Vaughn’s tenure, the University has expanded its academic programs to approximately 100 areas of study, including nine graduate programs in the fields of business, nursing, and education. His goal is to create a comprehensive medium-sized private University that is noted for its academic
excellence and a rich residential student-based learning environment.
