Information for transfer students starting in the fall.
Congratulations, Spartans, and welcome to your new home at The University of Tampa!
Whether you are transferring from a local community college, an in-state four-year institution or an out-of-state four-year institution, we are excited for you to begin your journey as a UT Spartan! We know that you have prior college experience, and UT has designed your hybrid orientation program to meet your needs and help you be successful during your transition to your new campus. From your first semester to subsequent years at UT, our online orientation and Welcome Week program will provide you with information on how to succeed at our University, expose you to University resources, and connect you to new and current students. In addition, our orientation team, comprised of dedicated and enthusiastic student leaders, will assist you throughout the program, help you navigate the campus and answer questions you may have about UT.
Our orientation program is also designed to help assist family members in participating and understanding their students' experience during this exciting time! For more information regarding registering for Family Orientation and information on the host hotel, please visit the Family Orientation webpage.

As a new transfer student, you will have the opportunity to get to know your campus prior to your arrival by completing UT's online orientation program. This program has been specifically designed with YOU in mind! From navigating academics to getting involved on campus, this program will help you familiarize yourself with the many resources available to you as a Spartan. The online orientation program will be available beginning Aug. 1 and must be completed prior to your arrival on campus.
New Transfer Student Check-In
All new students, both residential and commuters, are expected to check-in to the University on Friday, Aug. 23. During check-in, you will receive your Spartan ID card as well as other important information.
Residential students should plan on arriving at their assigned check-in time. You will receive information regarding your assigned check-in time in mid-July.
Throughout the day on Friday, Aug. 23, students are encouraged to complete all check-in related tasks as outlined in the online orientation program. A mandatory residence hall floor meeting will occur in the evening for all residential students followed by a social program for all students.
During your first two weeks on campus, all new students are encouraged to participate in Welcome Week. Welcome Week will feature programs that consist of presentations, workshops and social events designed to ensure you successfully transition to campus.
In addition to the new student online program and Welcome Week, transfer students on F1 visas will arrive for a special new international student orientation program. This also applies to new graduate international students within the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
