Information for transfer students starting in the spring.
Congratulations, Spartans, and welcome to your new home at The University of Tampa!
Whether you are transferring from a local community college, an in-state four-year institution or an out-of-state four-year institution, we are excited for you to begin your journey as a UT Spartan! We know that you have prior college experience, and UT has designed your orientation program to meet your needs and help you be successful during your transition to your new campus.
Our orientation program is also designed to help assist family members in participating and understanding their students' experience during this exciting time. For more information regarding Family Orientation, visit the Family Orientation website.
Spring Orientation will take place Jan. 17–18, 2019. The transfer student orientation schedule-at-a-glance will be available mid-Nov. 2018.
During your orientation program, all transfer students will participate in a variety of mandatory programs. These programs consist of seminar classes, presentations and workshops designed to ensure our students successfully transition to campus. Students should anticipate being involved in orientation events starting Thursday, Jan. 17, following move in, through Friday evening, Jan. 18.
All new residential and commuter students are required to check in from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Vaughn Center Information Desk. Late orientation check-in is Friday, Jan. 18, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Vaughn Center information desk.
Throughout the day on Thursday, Jan. 17, and Friday, Jan. 18, students are encouraged to complete all check-in-related tasks as outlined in their orientation schedules. There will be an orientation program occurring on Friday, Jan. 18 for all new transfer students. Students will be engaging in orientation-related activities during this time.
Evening events are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19.
