All residence halls will open Wednesday, Aug. 20. Residential students are asked to go to their assigned residence halls for curbside check-in if cleared before Aug. 15. All residents assigned to the Howard Johnson Plaza are cleared for curbside check-in and should report directly to the Howard Johnson during their assigned check-in time.
Commuter students who are cleared before Aug. 15 are welcome to check-in for orientation in the Grand Salon on Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. After 3:30 p.m., all cleared students' orientation check-in (undergraduate, domestic, residential and commuter) will be held at the Vaughn Center Information Desk.
All students cleared on Aug. 15 or later must first check-in for orientation in Fletcher Lounge before arriving at their assigned residence halls. Fletcher Lounge will open Aug. 20 at 9:30 a.m. Following check-in for orientation, students are welcome to move into their assigned residence hall at the stated times by the students’ last name found on the orientation schedule. Please don't forget to bring your photo ID to complete the check-in process!
Students may spend
time waiting if they arrive before their assigned time.
Throughout the day on Wednesday, Aug. 20, students are encouraged to complete
all check-in related tasks as outlined on their check-in
envelope. These times will be announced later this summer. A mandatory
residence hall floor meeting will occur in the evening for all residential
students followed by a social program for all students.
On Thursday, Aug. 21, students are required to attend the transfer orientation program. This program provides essential information about academic and co-curricular topics and allows students to meet key University faculty and staff.
Each evening, social activities will be sponsored by our social Greek letter organizations, Student Productions, Athletics or Residence Hall Association.
