Your Spartan Card is your official student ID and provides you access to your residence hall, parking garage, meal plan, Library, McNiff Fitness Center, sporting and other special events on campus. You will need it as soon as you arrive
. All new students are required to submit a passport photo by July 1 for fall and Dec. 15 for spring
Instructions for Uploading Your Photo via the Web
New admitted students must go to SpartanWeb to upload your photo for your Spartan ID card via the Web
. If you have lost a previously issued card, you must go to the Spartan Card office in the Vaughn Center during hours of operation
to be issued a new card.
Instructions for Emailing Your Photo
You may submit your photo by email, but it must meet the same specifications stated above. Also, your photo must be taken at a minimum of 1.3 megapixels and have a minimum image resolution of 1280 x 960. Send it as a JPEG document with your LastnameFirstnameIDnumber.jpg in the subject line of your email and as the name of the photo file (ex. DoeJane123456.jpg). Include your name and Student ID number in the body of your email and send it to email@example.com
If you receive multiple requests for your ID photo, only one submission is necessary provided the photo meets the above specifications.
Pick up your Spartan Student ID in person during orientation check-in by presenting an official photo ID such as your driver's license or passport or military ID.
Your ID photo submission is not only used for your Spartan Card, but also for class rosters and Spartan Web. It will be viewed by classmates, faculty, and other members of the UT community. Because of this, the photo you submit should be chosen carefully and thoughtfully. In addition, external photo submissions will not be accepted after each semester’s orientation. Photo updates will be allowed three weeks into the semester and will be charged a replacement fee.
