Parents and families are invited to attend UT's orientation activities.

Spring 2015 (January)

Information for families with a student starting spring semester.

The official program for parents and families begins on Friday, Jan. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. An optional breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. Please note, if you are a parent or a family member of an international student (studying on a visa), international students should arrive on Wednesday, Jan. 14. A special international student orientation program will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, to which you are invited. International students also are expected to attend all new student orientation activities on Friday, Jan. 16.

Fall 2015 (August)

Information for families with a student starting fall semester.

Schedule Summary:

All residence halls will open Thursday, Aug. 27, for students cleared for curbside check-in. All other students will need to check-in for orientation in Plant Hall prior to arriving to assigned residence hall.

The official program for all parents and families begins on Thursday, Aug. 27. For parents and families who sign-up for family orientation before the deadline, you name tag(s) will be found in your student's orientation check-in envelope.

Please note that if you are a parent or family member of an international student (studying on a visa), international students should arrive on Wednesday, Aug. 26, for a special international student orientation program. International students also are expected to attend all new student orientation activities Thursday, Aug. 27, through Friday, Aug. 28.

Throughout the day on Thursday, Aug. 27, all parents and families are free to help students settle into their rooms, tour the campus or museum, pay outstanding bills, etc. Lunch and dinner are provided. 

On Friday, Aug. 28, is the optional Family Orientation program in which parents are invited to meet key administrative staff and attend presentations on Student Services, Residence Life, First Year Learning Experience, Career Services, Academic Center for Excellence and Student Health and Counseling. These programs are held at the Hilton Downtown Tampa. Lunch will be provided. Families may also return to campus to bid their students farewell. 

Please note that the Aug. 28 family orientation program is an optional event which requires separate registration.
