Information for families with a student starting fall semester.

The comprehensive Family Orientation schedule will be posted July 1.
All residence halls will open Wednesday, Aug. 26, for students cleared for curbside check-in. All other students will need to check-in for orientation in Plant Hall prior to arriving to assigned residence hall.
The official program for all parents and families begins on Wednesday, Aug. 26. For parents and
families who sign-up for family orientation before the deadline, you name tag(s)
will be found in your student's orientation check-in envelope.
Please note that if you are a parent or family member
of an international student (studying on a visa), international students should
arrive on Tuesday, Aug. 25. A special international student orientation program
will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, to which you are also
invited. International students also are expected to attend all new student
orientation activities Wednesday, Aug. 26, through Friday, Aug. 28.
Throughout the day on Wednesday, Aug. 26, all parents and families are free to help
students settle into their rooms, tour the campus or museum, pay outstanding
bills, etc. Lunch and dinner are provided (regardless of registration for family orientation on Aug. 26). There is also a special Family
Welcome Reception at the Hilton Downtown Tampa 7-8 p.m which is open to all parents regardless of registration for the family orientation on Aug 26.
On Thursday, Aug. 27, is the optional Family Orientation program in which parents are invited to meet key administrative staff and
attend presentations on Student Services, Residence Life, First Year Learning
Experience, Career Services, Academic Center for Excellence and Student Health
and Counseling. These programs are held at the Hilton Downtown Tampa. Lunch will be
provided. Families may also return to campus to bid their students farewell.
Please note that the Aug. 27 family orientation program is an optional event which requires separate registration.
