The University of Tampa community is pleased to present Family Orientation to our Class of 2022 parents, family and guardians.
While your students attend their first day of orientation, you are encouraged to attend Family Orientation. This optional program will introduce you to the University’s resources and tools to help your student successfully transition to UT.
Parents, family and guardians may elect to register for this optional Family Orientation program, which will be held on Friday, Aug. 24. There is a $90 fee per person to attend this program. Registration for Family Orientation will be available beginning at 12 p.m. EST on June 4.
The family orientation schedule-at-a-glance will be available in mid-June 2018.
All residence halls open on Thursday, Aug. 23, for our residential first-year and transfer students. Commuter first-year and transfer students will need to check in for orientation in the Grand Salon, located in Plant Hall. Upon your student checking in to orientation, parents, family members and guardians who sign up for this program prior to the deadline will also receive their name tag(s) included in their student's orientation check-in envelope.
Please note that if you are a parent, family member or guardian of an international student (studying on a visa), international students should arrive on Wednesday, Aug. 22, for a special International Student Orientation program. International students are expected to attend all new student orientation activities Thursday, Aug. 23, through Sunday, Aug. 26.
Parents, family members or guardians are free to help students settle into their residence hall rooms on Thursday, Aug. 23, prior to their mandatory floor meeting, which will take place at 7 p.m. In addition to settling into their residence hall rooms, you and your students may elect to tour the campus, visit our historical Plant Hall Museum or take a legacy photograph.
Lunch and dinner in Ultimate Dining on Thursday, Aug. 23, are included in the fee for families who have registered for the Family Orientation program.
The Family Orientation program will take place on Friday, Aug. 24. This is an optional program which is intended for those who have registered to participate in Family Orientation, and there will only be limited registration on the day of the event. The Family Orientation program will take place at the Hilton Tampa Downtown. During the Friday program, parents, family members and guardians are invited to meet key administrative staff and attend presentations on Student Services, Residence Life, First Year Learning Experience, Career Services, Student Success Center and Student Health and Counseling. A continental breakfast and closing banquet will be provided as part of the Family Orientation registration fee. The Family Orientation program concludes immediately following the luncheon on Friday, Aug. 24.
