On Wednesday, Jan. 21, The University of Tampa will welcome pianist Maria Lyapkova, who will give a recital titled Meditation on the Past. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Grand Salon and is free and open to the public.

The program for the concert includes pieces for piano by Russian composer Galina Ustvolskaya and Ukranian composer Valentin Sivestrov, and the Sonata for Piano and Cello by Polish composer Frederic Chopin, featuring guest cellist Edevaldo Mulla.

The heads of Digital Hands, Highway Safety Devices and the Tampa Bay Lightning are slated to speak at the next Business Network Symposium at The University of Tampa on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. with the program running from 7:45–9 a.m. on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd.

Roméo Antonius Dallaire, a retired Canadian Army lieutenant-general, UN force commander during the Rwandan genocide and celebrated humanitarian, will speak at The University of Tampa on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 4 p.m. in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values.

The presentation, which is part of UT’s spring honors symposia series, is free and open to the public.

The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship® (USASBE), in conjunction with The University of Tampa, will hold its premier conference for entrepreneurship scholars and educators in Tampa Jan. 22-25. The 2015 annual conference, “Sun, Fun and Innovation—Advancing Entrepreneurship Education and Research,” offers a symposium for best practices in entrepreneurship education and program development.

“The University of Tampa, this year’s host sponsor, has been working hard for over an year to put together a world-class event that promises to be our best conference to date,” said Patrick Snyder, executive director of USASBE.
