On Sunday, April 9, The University of Tampa will welcome multi-talented pianist Alexander Frey, whom Leonard Bernstein referred to as “a wonderful spirit,” for the final concert in the 2016-2017 PNC Bank Concert Artist Series at the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. The performance begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The program for the concert will include works by Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957) and Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990), including the North American premiere of Korngold’s Walz an Luzi and the world premiere of Bernstein’s Valse Gaea. Frey will also perform Korngold’s Don Quixote and Marchenbilder, Op. 3, and Bernstein’s Thirteen Anniversaries.

The University of Tampa has announced it will begin offering a master’s degree in cybersecurity to prepare individuals to become proficient in ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of data, in preserving and restoring systems, and in developing risk management skills.

Starting in Fall 2017, the M.S. in Cybersecurity, offered by the Sykes College of Business, will help students launch or advance a career in the dynamic and growing cybersecurity industry.

The University of Tampa and Abu Dhabi University have partnered to offer a dual degree MBA/M.S. in global business program for students who live in the United Arab Emirates.

Students in the program will attend classes in the UAE and in The University of Tampa’s Sykes College of Business and will earn both an executive master's in business administration through Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and a Master of Science in global business from The University of Tampa (UT).

John Keschl ’16 didn’t know much about Morocco before he spent two weeks there. In fact, he had only been out of the Eastern Time Zone two months prior and had never travelled internationally.

But a year later, reflecting on the experience that had him and his COMH 212 Social Justice Communication classmates overcoming jet lag, a significant language barrier and culture shock, he said he grew personally and as a film producer.
