UT To Host Virtual Commencement On May 8, 11 A.M.
UT will host its spring commencement ceremonies as a virtual experience on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 11 a.m. EST. The ceremonies can be viewed at ut.edu/commencement/may-2021-virtual-commencement.
The ceremonies will honor the 1,781 degree-seeking candidates at the University's 152nd commencement. The event is free and available to view online by the degree-seeking candidates, their family members and friends, UT faculty and staff members, and the general public.
The ceremonies will include remarks by President Ronald Vaughn, academic deans and student challenge speakers. A downloadable version of the ceremony will be available immediately after. In addition, each graduate will receive a personalized video commemorating their achievement.
Degree-seeking candidates are encouraged to submit photos through social media by using the hashtag #UTampaGrad and tagging @uoftampa. Those who'd like to say "congratulations" to a new graduate are encouraged to do so on social media using the hashtag #UTampaGrad. For details, visit ut.edu/utampagrad.
May 2021 graduates may participate in the next in-person commencement ceremony, if they wish.
In addition to the virtual ceremony, students graduating in May or August 2021 were invited to participate in a week of special events that have been created specifically to celebrate graduates during the final week of classes. Events include receiving academic regalia, professional graduation photo opportunities, a graduate resource expo and much more. A full schedule of events is available at ut.edu/commencement/may-commencement.
