Studio Lessons

Private studio lessons are central to all music degree programs; students of other majors who are participating in ensembles are also encouraged to take studio lessons. UT’s music faculty is comprised of professionally performing musicians who are also dedicated teachers.

Studio lessons are for-credit courses available only to students with music experience. Enrollment is by audition or instructor approval. Studio lessons require co-enrollment in music ensemble and Concert/Recital Attendance courses. Beginner-level music instruction is available through group lessons in piano, guitar and voice, a basic music theory course (MUS 100) and an introduction to music course (MUS 102).
