Ensembles

In the Choral and Vocal area there are four ensembles available, all by audition only.

Collegiate Chorale
This is a select mixed ensemble (SATB) that varies in size from 28 to 36 students. The repertoire covers a wide spectrum of choral literature from folk tunes and spirituals, madrigals and motets, to larger works by major composers. The first semester concentrates on the popular Family Christmas Festival and the second semester is the Annual Spring Concert.

Women’s Glee Club
This is a select ensemble of women’s voices with a membership between 18 to 28 voices. The repertoire is very similar to that of the Chorale. These two ensembles combine for the Family Christmas Festival and the Spring Concert.

Oratorio Singers
This is a community-based chorus of about 60 voices that performs major works with orchestra accompaniment. This ensemble is in residence at the University of Tampa, though they rehearse off campus. Transportation is provided for students who require it.

OPUS
This is a small (eight to 12 members) ensemble of mixed voices that primarily performs Broadway repertoire. The concerts are comprised of choral arrangements as well as opportunities for solo and small ensemble performances. It is a popular group and is often asked to sing for various University events.
