Susan Minot is the author of Monkeys, which won the Prix Femina Étranger in France, Lust & Other Stories, Folly, Evening, Rapture and a poetry collection, Poems 4 A.M. She wrote the screenplay for Bernardo Bertolucci’s “Stealing Beauty” (1995) and co-authored the screenplay of “Evening” (2007) with Michael Cunningham.
Her non-fiction has been published in The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveller, House and Garden and Vogue. The story “This We Came to Know Afterward” about the kidnapped child soldiers in Uganda, was published in McSweeney’s #5 (2000) and selected for The Best American Travel Writing 2001.
She is presently teaching at New York University and Stony Brook. She lives in New York City with her daughter and also on North Haven island in Maine.
