Jason Ockert is the author of two collections of short stories: Neighbors of Nothing and Rabbit Punches. He has received awards from The Atlantic Monthly, Mary Roberts Rinehart and the Dzanc Short Story Collection Contest, and been nominated for a Shirley Jackson Award. Short stories he has written have appeared in anthologies and journals such as New Stories from the South, Best American Mystery Stories, Oxford American, storySouth, Ecotone, The Iowa Review, One Story, McSweeney’s and Post Road. Ockert serves as fiction editor of Waccamaw and is an associate professor at Coastal Carolina University. His first novel, which is about brain-eating wasps, will appear in 2014.
