To add variety to your fitness and recreation needs, the Athletics Department operates a newly remodeled Olympic-size swimming pool and leisure deck which is available to students, faculty and staff.
A limited number of lockers are also available for day use in each locker room. Customers may bring their own locks or rent/purchase a lock from the operation staff at the front desk. Locks cannot be left overnight on day-use lockers.
Full-time, undergraduate student memberships are free. Faculty and staff memberships are $25 per year. Memberships for graduate and continuing studies students, alumni and part-time students are $50 per year. Memberships that require a fee must be paid for via cash or check made out to "The University of Tampa." Memberships at the McNiff Fitness Center purchased on or after Aug. 1, 2014, will cover the time period between date of purchase to Aug. 15, 2015. Memberships are nonrefundable.
For more information about the McNiff Fitness Center and/or fitness programs, please contact the McNiff front desk staff at (813) 258-7435.
UT students with a valid fitness center membership may sponsor one guest per day. The guest must be 18 years of age, present photo identification and pay a $5 fee at the front desk. The sponsoring member must accompany the guest at all times while in the facility. If the sponsor leaves the facility, the guest must also leave. The guest may or may not be allowed to participate in group fitness classes depending upon equipment availability, as the members are served first.
Locker Rental Policies
We offer a limited number of full-size rental lockers in both the men's and women's locker rooms for day use. Lockers can be purchased at the front desk of the McNiff Fitness Center. Payment is accepted by cash or check (payable to Campus Recreation-McNiff). Rentals start the first week of August and expire the last day in July the following year (Aug. 1, 2015-July 31, 2016). The annual cost to rent a locker is $15.
Our staff will open lockers that are not renewed or cleaned out on or before their expiry date. The contents of the locker will be bagged and stored for 30 days. After 30 days, the contents will be donated to charity. It is the responsibility of the member to renew his or her service on or before the expiry date.
The University of Tampa and Campus Recreation are NOT responsible for the loss or damage of items left in lockers before or after the service expiration date. Be sure to ALWAYS use a lock and avoid leaving valuable items visible and unattended.
