Mission Statement

The Department of Languages and Linguistics believes that the study of language is experiential by nature. The department's mission is to give students the opportunity to gain language proficiency and to provide them with an international awareness of diversity through the study of other languages and cultures. The program contributes to providing students with an excellent foundation in the liberal arts and gives them the opportunity to gain particular insight into intercultural communication skills.
