Majors

Allied Health
Students who wish to pursue graduate or professional training in allied health fields such as physical therapy or occupational therapy are encouraged to enroll in this program.

Athletic Training

Prepares students for positions in an allied health field to work with teams in the prevention and care of sports injuries. This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

Exercise Science - This program features three tracks:

  • Teaching certification track trains K-12 teachers for tomorrow’s classrooms.
  • Adult fitness track trains physical fitness instructors for work in clinics and civic organizations such as the YMCA, and prepares students for the NSSM exam.
  • Allied health track offers a pre-professional curriculum for physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and other allied health care fields.
Public Health

The BSPH degree program is designed for students primarily interested in the improvement of health and prevention of disease and disability.

Minors

Recreation Minor - The minor in recreation prepares students for recreation leadership positions in public government programs, voluntary agencies, industry, hospitals, churches and more. It does not lead to professional teacher certification.

Exercise Science Minor - A general course of study that is an alternative to the major.
