Gregg Perkins is an artist and writer whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and whose writing has appeared in Coterie, New Art Examiner, ArtUS, TimeOut Chicago and Artforum.com. His recent film Cannon Falls was included in the Dallas, Sarasota, SoundUnseen and Wisconsin film festivals.Professional and Community Activities
Perkins has taught courses in art and technology, modern and contemporary art history, installation-based forms of art, and video production at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He also has been a guest faculty at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago within the graduate school of Painting and Drawing.His current research addresses the production of fictional narratives within contemporary film and visual art, and is more specifically focused on how the fictional can alter the construction of cultural and social narratives.
