David Spaulding (right), re-enacted the moment his grandfather and UT’s first president, Frederic Spaulding, opened the doors to Plant Hall in 1933 and the building became the new home for The University of Tampa. Prior to the move, the institution had been named Tampa Junior College and was located inside Hillsborough High School.
