Evening College

The Evening College is designed for working adults who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree part-time in the evening. Students may enroll in up to eight credit hours per term.

Application

• Admission is competitive and students are encouraged to apply early.
• To apply, please use either paper (PDF) or online application.
• Applications are evaluated for fall, spring and summer terms on a rolling basis until classes are full. Students are notified of status once all documents have been received.

The following documents should be submitted:

• Completed application
• $40 nonrefundable application fee
• Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
• Official final high school transcript or GED scores (or associate’s degree)

A maximum of 64 credits may be transferred from a two-year or community college. Students transferring from a four-year institution may transfer any number of credits but must complete the last 31 semester hours in residence at UT. 124 credits are required to graduate.

Students may earn up to 30 credits by submitting satisfactory results on CLEP Exams (College Level Examination Program).

Financial Aid for Part-Time Students

Federal financial aid is available for part-time students enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester. For student loan and federal grant consideration, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA forms are available from the Financial Aid Office or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Applicants should complete the FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible. Filing online can reduce processing time from weeks to days. UT's school code (001538) must be on the form in order for the University to receive the results.

Part-time students may be eligible for Pell Grants, which are awarded to students earning their first bachelor's degree. For more information on financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office or see Web page for general information on undergraduate financial aid.
