Gain valuable career experience and become culturally aware by completing an international internship. Learn how you can earn academic credit while enjoying an education abroad experience.

Where to begin

Visit the Office of International Programs to discuss these program opportunities with an education abroad adviser. Specifically, students may contact Katie DeGuzman or Danielle Houston. Student walk-in hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m in Plant Hall 304 and 306. All other times are by appointment only.

How do I apply

The application deadline for London Internships is Feb. 15. The Office of International Programs may consider applications received after this date on a case-by-case basis. Students must first apply online through the Spartans Abroad Program Portal.

Application Timeline  

  • Dec. 15, 2011: Online application, $500 deposit, and draft of resume and cover letter due 
  • Feb. 1, 2012: Last day for $500 deposit refund 
  • Feb. 2, 2012: Education Abroad Fair  
  • Feb. 15, 2012: $3,000 payment due along with online program application  
  • March 15, 2012: Final payment due 
  • April 16-23, 2012: Mandatory pre-departure sessions  

Summer Internships in London, England

UT internships in London offers students a unique opportunity to spend six to eight weeks living and working in London while gaining valuable work experience and earning UT credits. All students receive an individualized placement based on their academic and professional interests. Placements for all majors are available with hundreds of London-based companies. Past placements have included AIG Global Investment, Kings College Hospital and Amnesty International. In addition to the internship, which is a three-days-per week experience, each student will also enroll in a Learning Through Internships Seminar and an additional 3-credit course from a variety of options in various disciplines. Students will be housed in student apartments or in home stays.

Program Cost: $8,164 (does not include airfare or visa)
