Erik Peterson, director of the Global Strategy Institute (GSI) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will speak at The University of Tampa on Thursday, Feb. 12 about what business leaders, parents and educators need to know about the world facing the next generation of Americans.

The presentation and Q&A session will be held at 8 a.m. in the Reeves Theater in the Vaughn Center on the UT campus. A continental breakfast will precede the presentation, and will begin at 7:30 a.m. There is no cost to attend, but seating is limited.

In his presentation, “The Class of 2025,” Peterson will help the audience visualize different Americas — good, bad and ugly — and develop concrete approaches and strategies on how to maximize the position of the United States in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to directing the GSI, Peterson is the senior vice president at CSIS and holds the William A. Schreyer Chair in Global Analysis.

GSI is dedicated to promoting long-range thinking about the big global issues that lie before us. It seeks to encourage a creative and far-sighted outlook at a time when short-term pressures on leadership are all the more onerous, the complexities of decision making all the more daunting and the challenges of expanding planning horizons all the more formidable.

Peterson’s presentation is sponsored by The University of Tampa’s Office of Graduate Studies and the W.S. Pierce Distinguished Practitioner Speaker Series.
