David Bechtold specializes in sustainability, strategic planning and leadership.
Professional and Community Activities:
David Bechtold has more than 25 years of managerial experience in various industries. These experiences included owning a management consulting firm and an architectural/real estate development company as well as establishing a community re-entry program for adults who have experienced traumatic head injuries.

Prior to joining The University of Tampa, he was the director of project management for the largest nonprofit medical research institution in Hawaii. His role was to oversee the acquisition and management of more than $100 million in federally funded medical research in such diverse areas as coronary heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Bechtold’s research interests include studying the effects of culture on management practices and most recently how perceived risks impact communication and leader effectiveness. Bechtold also serves as the coordinator for the Moffitt Cancer Consortia.
