M.S. in Accounting '09
Hometown: St. Petersburg, FL

Previous education: University of Florida, B.S. in accounting ‘07

Employment history: I’ve served as the accounting intern for Jury’s Hotel Kensington in London, the strategic finance intern for CHEP USA in Orlando and the audit intern for Vestal & Wiler in Orlando. I am currently a graduate assistant in the accounting department.

I enrolled in the University of Tampa’s master’s in accounting program due to its reputation as one of the best graduate-level accounting programs in the southeast. The program’s alumni spoke volumes about the school’s outstanding faculty, its dedication to its students and the unrivaled classroom experience. Perhaps more importantly, local business leaders recognized the quality of students that graduated from the program.

My experience at UT has exceeded my expectations of graduate school. Small class sizes and an exceptional faculty have created a remarkable learning environment. The college’s diverse student population has given the campus a truly international feel. Endless networking and social events - put on by the student organization for MBA students – has created a close-knit environment that proves invaluable in the ever-expanding Tampa Bay area.

As a native of St. Petersburg, I have been involved with many local organizations over the years. Some of the most beneficial have been The St. Petersburg Free Clinic, The University of Florida Alumni Association, the Boy Scouts of America, UT GOLD (Graduate Organization for Leadership Development) and Tampa Bay Club Sport.

After graduation I am excited to work in Ernst & Young’s Technology and Security Risk Services (TSRS) Practice in Tampa. I hope to use the summer before I start working to study for and pass the CPA exam.
