An expert in the area of positive psychology in education, Patty O'Grady's new book, Positive Psychology in the Elementary School Classroom (2012), will publish with W.W. Norton & Company/New York. Her research and writing focuses on the neuroscience of learning, the emotional correlates of accomplishment and the affective taxonomy of teaching. Her interest is building developmental assests that all children need to excel in learning and in life.Professional and Community Activities:
O'Grady has published numerous articles in academic journals and, most recently, in New Horizons for Learning (John Hopkins University), the National Teaching and Learning Forum (Jossey-Bass/Wiley) and the Academic Exchange Quarterly (AEQ/New York). She is a popular keynote speaker and invited presenter at national and international conferences and frequently conducts professional development training in the area of positive psychology in education.
