Program Outcomes Data

The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (BSAT) Program at The University of Tampa is divided into two phases. The pre-professional phase of the program starts with the freshman year and extends through the spring semester of the freshman year. The professional phase of the program begins the fall following the freshman year and extends for three years.

Graduation Rate

For the Athletic Training Program, the graduation rate is defined as the percentage of students who began the professional phase of the program and graduated within 150% of normal curricular time (3 years). The data for the past graduating BSAT classes is provided. The class cohorts follow CAATE guidelines for defining a cohort. For example, the class of 2010 – 2011 includes those graduating between Fall 2010 and Summer 2011.

Employment Rate

For the Athletic Training Program, the employment rate is defined as the percentage of graduates who were employed in Athletic Training or full-time advanced graduate study within six months of passing the Board of Certification examination. Board of Certification Examination Results

In order to obtain a certification in athletic training, a person must be a graduate of an athletic training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and must also pass the Board of Certification (BOC) Examination. The data for graduates of The University of Tampa Athletic Training Program and national BOC data are presented in the tables below.
