The Academic Exploration Program includes many events and workshops to connect to students at all points in their exploration process. Many of these events are in collaboration with Career Services to cohesively assist students in holistically exploring their major and career options. Check this page for updated events each semester or view the UT online calendar.

EXPLORATION HOTSPOTS

Will be held on: Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017; Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017; and Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, from 11 a.m.–noon. Exploration HOTSPOTS will be in different locations around campus, and a major exploration specialist and assistant director for career exploration will answer questions related to exploration. Stop by to win a prize and get connected!

EXPLORATION MEET-UPS

In these focused groups of six to eight students, you’ll develop an individual plan for exploring your major and career options. These events set you up for success at UT and after graduation. Reserve your spot in a group on Hire UT.

MAJORS FAIR

The annual Majors Fair allows students to broaden their knowledge of the major and minor degree programs at UT. Students are able to meet faculty, staff, student and alumni representatives from across UT’s academic departments to engage in conversations about options for majors and requirements for each specific academic offering. This year’s fair is on March 22, 2016, from 3-5 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Grand Salon.

MAJOR AND CAREER PANELS

To help students see where majors can lead them, major-specific panels will be planned throughout the year where students can ask questions and learn from experience from a variety of successful professionals. Check back for upcoming panels!

EXPLORATION WORKSHOPS

The exploration specialist facilitates various workshops throughout the year to help groups of students engage in conversations around all aspects of the academic exploration process. Workshops are open to all students. Student organizations can email aep@ut.edu to request a presentation or workshop.
