Confidentiality

Any information pertaining to the disability of a student remains confidential. Access to that information is given only to the associate director and director of the Academic Center for Excellence and the dean of Academic Services. When a student first applies for services, the associate director refers any paperwork in conjunction with a Disability Disclosure Form to a qualified consultant in order to be advised on the best and most appropriate accommodations for a student as well as to obtain more knowledge concerning a condition.

Files will remain with the coordinator for three years following the last contact with a student. After that time, the associate director will shred the documentation.
