Academic Accommodations

Academic accommodations are granted based upon the impact of each student’s individual disability. No two people are alike, and the effects of a disability may manifest differently for two people who may have the same disability.

We make a determination for academic accommodations after we have reviewed your disability documentation. Accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis and may vary from semester to semester.

Below are a few of the more commonly approved accommodations:
  • Extended time on tests
  • Distraction-reduced test environment
  • Note-taking assistance
  • Special seating in the classroom
  • Adaptive equipment
  • Test scribe
  • Test reader
  • Use of an audio recorder in the classroom
  • Use of a computer for written exams/note taking in the classroom/in class written assignments
