Environmental Protection Coalition
Environmental Protection Coalition is an organization focused on sustainability and environmentalism on the UT campus and throughout the Tampa Bay community. Through volunteerism, education and outreach we strive to teach others about the importance of being sustainable and caring for our environment. We hope to create a space for like-minded individuals to come together to discuss and share ideas on environmentalism and ways to support and encourage sustainability. Recycling Club
The Recycling Club aims to educate all members of The University of Tampa community including students, staff and faculty in recycling best practices. Additionally, the Recycling Club strives to improve and streamline recycling systems and processes in an effort to make a positive impact on the environment. Roots & Shoots
Roots & Shoots is the community outreach organization of Jane Goodall, one of the world’s most renowned scientists and environmental activists. Roots & Shoots’ mission is to empower youth to affect positive change in their communities through service learning on projects related to social justice, pollution, climate change and more. The UT Chapter of Roots & Shoots educates the local community on environmental issues, runs a learning garden at a local elementary school, and holds an annual Earth Day Gala and Recycled Art competition. Society for Conservation Biology
Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) is a global community of conservation professionals dedicated to advancing the science and practice of conserving Earth's biological diversity. The Tampa Chapter of SCB exists for the betterment of The University of Tampa (UT) campus and the Tampa Bay community as a whole. The chapter will promote conservation following the example set by the international SCB. On the UT campus and in Tampa Bay, SCB hosts volunteer events such as cleanups, invasive species removals, educational events and discussions, and also runs an annual Gasparilla Bead Recycling program. Student Environmental Action Coalition
The Student Environmental Action Coalition (S.E.A.C.) focuses on making UT more sustainable through various initiatives. Join us as we work to reduce our campus’ ecological footprint. University of Tampa Chapter of the Tampa Bay Association for Environmental Professionals
The UT Chapter of the Tampa Bay Association of Environmental Professionals (UT-TBAEP) is a pre-professional group that provides information about employment opportunities in environmental science and related fields. This group is a chapter of the National Association for Environmental Professionals (NAEP), an active organization with its own peer-reviewed journal (The Environmental Professional). UT-TBAEP Chapter members may attend monthly TBAEP meetings at local venues, which include a seminar and other valuable opportunities for networking with environmental professionals that work for federal, state and local governmental agencies, local environmental consulting firms and businesses, and non-governmental environmental organizations. The yearly UT-TBAEP Career Forum gives students access to local environmental professionals during a panel discussion. The winner of a yearly student writing competition receives funding to attend the annual NAEP meetings. Members also have many opportunities for job-shadowing and volunteering at local agencies and in the private sector, providing experience that could eventually lead to full-time employment.
