University of Tampa’s Nursing Program Named Top in the State

The University of Tampa has the best nursing program in Florida, according to the website RegisteredNursing.org.

The ranking listed the top 50 nursing schools in Florida by analyzing current and historical National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) pass rates out of the 154 RN programs in the state.

In the ranking, Florida Gulf Coast University was ranked second, and Seminole State College of Florida was ranked third.

The full ranking can be accessed at www.registerednursing.org/state/florida/#rankings.

Carol Botwinski, director of the department of nursing, said the ranking validates the hard work of UT faculty and students.

“The program’s rigorous structure, its dedicated faculty and students’ ability to gain real world experience at a large range of quality health care facilities all contribute to the high passing rate on the NCLEX-RN,” Botwinski said.

The UT Department of Nursing maintains affiliations with more than 250 Tampa Bay area health care facilities.

UT’s nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). National accreditation establishes that all of the nursing programs offered at UT meet national standards in curriculum, quality and preparation of faculty, teaching and learning resources, and achievement of established learning outcomes.
