UT to Stage Diana Son’s Stop Kiss Oct. 15–18

From Oct. 15–18, The University of Tampa will stage Diana Son’s Stop Kiss. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday–Saturday, Oct. 15–17, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19. All performances will be in Falk Theatre, located at 428. W. Kennedy Blvd.

Stop Kiss was written by American playwright Diana Son and first produced by the New York Shakespeare Festival in New York City on Dec. 6, 1998. The play centers on two women who unexpectedly find themselves attracted to each other and falling in love. Their first kiss provokes a violent attack, forcing them to find the strength to move beyond social acceptance and to live and love honestly. The story is told out of chronological order, with alternating scenes taking place before and after the assault, which is not shown on stage.

The production features a cast of seven UT students under the direction of Rosemary Orlando.

Admission is free for UT students, faculty and staff with valid UT identification. General admission tickets are $15, senior citizens and non-UT students may purchase tickets for $10. For more information, call (813) 253-6243.
