The heads of Digital Hands, Highway Safety Devices and the Tampa Bay Lightning are slated to speak at the next Business Network Symposium at The University of Tampa on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. with the program running from 7:45–9 a.m. on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd.

Charlotte Baker is an entrepreneur who co-founded Digital Hands, a U.S.-based managed IT security services provider. Gordon Johnson is president and co-owner of Highway Safety Devices, a leading provider of contracted services specializing in the installation and repair of intelligent transportation systems, traffic signals, signing, lighting and guardrails on highway and road construction projects throughout Florida.

Jeff Vinik purchased the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2010, promising a comprehensive transformation of the franchise and pledging to make a significant positive impact in the Tampa Bay community. Vinik’s Strategic Property Partners, LLC has purchased numerous parcels of land around the Lightning’s Amalie Arena, and announced plans for a hotel, retail and residential complex west of the arena.

The Business Network Symposium is hosted by The University of Tampa Board of Fellows and the presenting sponsor is LCG. Other sponsors include the Tampa Bay Business Journal and Sodexo Campus Services.

The Board of Fellows holds this networking event three times a year to allow businesses that are well known, changing or new to the Tampa Bay area the opportunity to share their accomplishments and plans with the business community. The final symposium in the 2014-2015 series is scheduled for April 14.
