UT Presents Writers at the University Wednesday, Feb. 18

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, The University of Tampa’s Writers at the University series will present a reading with Don Morrill, Dana professor of English, and Andy Plattner, visiting assistant professor of English, who will read from their latest works. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery, 310 North Boulevard.

Morrill is the associate dean of graduate and continuing studies at UT and teaches in the University’s low-residency MFA in Creative Writing program. He is the author of three volumes of poetry, Awaiting Your Impossibilities, At the Bottom of the Sky and With Your Back to Half the Day, as well as four books of nonfiction.

Plattner is a visiting professor of English and writing. His novel, Offerings from a Rust Belt Jockey, won Dzanc’s Mid-career Novel Prize. He is the author of two story collections: Winter Money and A Marriage of Convenience. His work has appeared in The Paris Review, Fiction, Southern Review and Epoch, among others.
