UT Gains Honor Society that Recognizes Top Non-Traditional/Adult Students

The University of Tampa has been accepted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society, which recognizes the special achievement of undergraduate non-traditional/adult students who accomplish academic excellence while maintaining commitments to family and career.

The society's board unanimously accepted the University's application for membership. UT’s Upsilon Tau chapter will invite qualified student candidates to membership in the society during the next several weeks and will hold its first induction ceremony during the Spring 2012 semester. Student members selected must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2, and have taken at least 24 credit hours toward their first undergraduate degree.

Alpha Sigma Lambda is the only chapter-based honor society for nontraditional learners. In partnership with its member colleges and universities, it has made major contributions in the areas of student recruitment and retention of adult students.
