Tampa Review 53

Florida‘s Premier Literary Journal: Stories - Poems - Essays - Art
By Tampa Press Editors  & Staff

Work—one of the most significant components of American life and identity—resonates throughout Tampa Review 53 in the visual imagery and in literary texts; taking many shapes and forms, from practical to sublime, work and its meanings fill these pages. Yet not only work, but the spirit of its corollary also shines through in this issue: the hope for rest and a fulfillment, physical and spiritual, of labor invested.

The art in Tampa Review 53 is reproduced from Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art, a touring exhibition from the Smithsonian American Art Museum on view at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg. It features work created since the 1950s by artists of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban and Dominican descent, as well as pieces by others with Latin American roots, who have helped define American art since Abstract Expressionism.
